O R D E R

The instant Writ Petition has been filed by a Village Administrative Officer, seeking a Mandamus to consider her representation dated 12.01.2023, wherein she has prayed for higher step up pay on the ground that she is a graduate on the date of her appointment.

According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner was appointed as a Village Administrative Officer on 11.06.2010 and even before her appointment, the petitioner has passed B.Sc (Zoology) from Madurai Kamaraj University. Therefore, she had sought for the benefits under G.O.(Ms) No.241, Finance (Pay Cell) Department, dated 22.07.2013, which is clarified under the Government Letter No.6364/Pay Cell-I/2018-4, dated 11.06.2018.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has further relied upon the judgment of this Court, dated 24.07.2020 in W.P(MD) No.7972 of 2020 (S.Balakrishnan vs. the Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Industries and Commerce, Industrial Department and another), wherein benefits have been conferred upon the said writ petitioner.

4. In view of the above said facts, the first respondent herein is directed to consider the representation of the writ petitioner dated 12.01.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, in the light of the above said Government Order and the Government Letter, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
