O R D E R
The petitioner has filed this writ of Mandamus seeking a direction to the third respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner's society dated 15.07.2015. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents. 3.MDA - HSL-92, Madurai South Taluk, Cooperative Housing Society Limited, represented by its President P.Murugesan is the petitioner. By G.O.Ms.No.113, Housing and Urban Development (Vi.Ku.Sa.I), Department dated 20.05.2008, it was decided that in respect of the loan amounts outstanding from poor people classed as economically weaker section, especially those who are not in a position to repay the loan service charges and interest upto Rs.25,000/- shall be waived.
4. The Special Officer, Tamil Nadu Housing Federation, sought for details of persons, who were given the benefit of waiver of loan facility.
4.1. The petitioner's society granted loan waiver to the extent of Rs.4,10,60,492/-. The Housing Federation adjusted part of the amount, to the extent of Rs.2,84,64,790/- by issuing a Receipt, and the balance is outstanding. Claiming the said amount, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 15.07.2015. Since the respondent did not take any action based on the representation dated 15.07.2015, this writ petition has been filed. 5.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that it is agreeable for the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner within a period of eight weeks.
6.Accordingly, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner society's representation dated 15.07.2015 and to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
