ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to conduct an enquiry and issue patta in his favour in respect of the agricultural punja land situated in Survey No.196/7, with an extent of 0.11.50 Ares, in Vaarpattu post, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by considering her representation dated 16.06.2025. 2.Heard the arguments of Mr.P.Pagalavan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.SNedunchezian, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.According to the petitioner, the subject property was originally purchased by petitioner's maternal grandfather, Chinnaiah. After his death, the property was enjoyed by his Son Alagu. After death of Alagu, the property was enjoyed by the petitioner's mother, Selvam. After death of Selvam on 31.05.2021, the property has been in possession and enjoyment of the petitioner, her father Chinnakannu and her siblings. It is also stated that as per the village custom, the said property was allotted to the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the respondents seeking issuance of patta. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court. 4.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the subject property is held over as agricultural punja land. Therefore, the competent authority to consider the request of the petitioner is the District Revenue Officer. 5.In view of the same, the first respondent is directed to forward the representation of the petitioner dated 16.06.

The said authority shall consider the same and pass final orders within a further period of twelve weeks, after issuing notice to the petitioner and other interested parties.
