Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to provide crop insurance to the 1st petitioner in Survey Nos.443(4A), 447(5A), 457 (2A), 457(11B), 433(7B), 451(5B) to an extent of 2 acre 1 cent at T.Nagani group and in Survey Nos.147(7A), 239(7), 462(6C), 491 (4A), 239(6B to an extent of 3 acre 2 cent at Sirumalaikottai group situated at Thinaikathan Vayal, Sirumalaikottai (Post), Ramanathapuram District and to the 2nd petitioner in Survey Nos.439, 447, 451, 453, 436, 433, 436(5), 457, 429, 453 to an extent of 3 acre 33 cent at T.Nagani group and in Suvey Nos.

479, 484, 479(3A), 148, 149, 157, 486, 458, 459, 459(3C), 462 to an extent of 3 acre 6 cents at Sirumalaikottai group situated at Thinaikathan Vayal, Sirumalaikottai(Post), Ramanathapuram District and for a consequential direction directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to initiate necessary action against the respondent No.3 for illegalities committed by him, within the time period stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. The petitioners have filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to provide crop insurance to them.

4. According to the petitioners, they are agriculturists and they are entitled to the benefit of Crop Insurance Scheme. Seeking such benefit, they have made a representation before the second respondent on 02.11.2016. The above said representation was not considered by the second respondent. Hence, they have filed this Writ Petition.

5. Taking into consideration of the fact that the petitioners' representation, dated 02.11.2016 is pending with the second respondent without any disposal, the second respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
