PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to settle the petitioner's surrender leave salary for 100 days in respect of the years 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum payable from the date of retirement to till the date of actual payment.

ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondents to settle the petitioner's surrender leave salary for a period of 100 days in respect of the years 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum.
2.By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.The grievance of the petitioner is that with the relief sought for in the prayer, though he has made a representation, dated 06.03.2020 to the respondents, so far no action has been taken. Hence, the present writ petition.

W.P.(MD) No.17940 of 2020 4.Mr.P.Balasubramani, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation, dated 06.03.2020 will be disposed of by the 1st respondent on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks. 5.Recording the submission made by the learned standing counsel, this Court is inclined to pass the following directions:- i) the 1st respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2020 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order;
ii) if any amount is arrived at by the respondents with regard to the claim of the petitioner, the same shall be paid to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks therefrom; 6.In the light of the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
