This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to sanction compensation of Rs.3,15,087/- to the petitioner's son M.Senthilkumar for his medical expenses under the Chief Minister Public Relief Fund, by considering the second respondent's recommendation in Na.Ka.P1/8486/2017, dated 27.09.2017.
2. According to the petitioner, his son namely, M.Senthilkumar, worked as Construction Worker and that on 11.03.2017, an asbestos sheet fixed in a private mill accidentally fell on him, as a result of which, he was injured grievously and therefore, in order to save his life, he was admitted in a private hospital namely, Sakthibala Hospital, Rajapalayam, where he took treatment for two months, as a result of which, the petitioner's family has spent Rs.3,15,087/- for his treatment. It is submitted that the petitioner is entitled for cashless medical treatment under the Hon'ble Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. However, the respondents have not settled the payment.

3. It is further submitted that despite a favourable recommendation by the second respondent, vide his proceeding, bearing reference No. Na.Ka.P1/8486/2017, dated 27.09.2017, the first respondent has failed to sanction the amount.

Having considered the arguments advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents, I direct the first respondent to act on the recommendation of the second respondent, dated 27.09.2017, bearing reference No. Na.Ka.P1/8486/2017 and pay compensation to the petitioner, if the petitioner is otherwise eligible, after due scrutiny of the claim as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
