Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 26.09.2016 to conduct enquiry based on the First Information Report filed by the 3rd respondent in Crime No.200 of 2016 under Section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code for the suspicious death of the petitioner's daughter Sangeetha, dated 16.06.2016.

The writ petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 26.09.2016 and to conduct the enquiry, based on the FIR in Crime No.200 of 2016.

2.The case of the petitioner is that her daughter namely Sangeetha was married to one Shanmugam, s/o.Kaliappan of Sengulathupatti, V.Pudukottai Village, Dindigul District, on 25.02.2010. Out of the wedlock, she was blessed with two children https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and due to harassment and torture of the accused, she has committed suicide on 16.06.2016. However, subsequently, the first respondent has not conducted enquiry. So, she sent a representation, dated 26.09.2016. Since, no action was taken, she has come before this court with this petition. 3.Heard Mr.D.Selvaraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.P.Krishnados, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

4.The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, would submit that after registration of the case on 16.06.2016, the first respondent, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Karur Taluk, has conducted inquest, but so far, the 3rd respondent has not received the report from the first respondent and they are also awaiting for postmortem and viscera reports and after receipt of the reports, the 3rd respondent would alter the charge and take necessary action. It is further submitted that the son-in-law of the petitioner, who is alleged to have given torture to the deceased is absconding.

5.Recording the above submission, this writ petition is closed, giving liberty to the petitioner to file a writ petition in future, if necessary. No costs.
