ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed to direct the second respondent police to provide adequate police protection to protect the life and limb of the petitioner as prayed for in the petitioner's complaint dated 24.11.2020.

2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first and second respondents, on instructions, would submit that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case has been registered in crime No.187 of 2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 294 (b), 430, 506(ii) IPC and four persons were included as accused. He would further submit that the third respondent herein was added as first accused. Since action has been taken on the petitioner's, no further order is required in this petition.

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.14745 of 2020 3.At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though a case has been registered, still there is threat from the third respondent and his associates. 4.In view of the above submissions, this Court directs the official respondents to investigate the matter and if necessary, give police protection to the petitioner, in the manner known to law. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
