... Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to make necessary correction by removing the word of 'temple land banned' in Patta No. 1297, North Valliyoor Part-I, Valliyoor, Radhapuram taluk, Tirunelveli District by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 21.06.2024. 1/5
For Petitioner : Mr.M.Ramu For Respondents : Mr.M.Lingadurai Special Government Pleader
O R D E R
The petitioner seeks for limited relief of issuance of writ of mandamus to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to make necessary correction by removing the word 'temple land banned' in Patta No.1297.
2. The petitioner has given a representation in this regard on 21.06.2024. The learned counsel for the petitioner would invite my attention to the patta issued to the petitioner for the very same survey number. However, in the online records, the very same survey number is reflected as if it is banned being temple lands. According to the counsel for the petitioner, it is only a mistake since patta had already been issued in the name of the petitioner and only necessary corrections will have to be carried.
3. However, the learned Special Government Pleader would submit that if it is the question of reclassification, then the first respondent District Collector will have to pass orders.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
5. Considering the scope of the writ petition, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to conduct an enquiry and if it is found that, it is only a mistake while updating the computer records, then necessary correction shall be carried out by the 2nd respondent within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Howerver, if it requires reclassification to be effected, then the 2nd respond shall forward the report to the 1st respondent within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and the 1st respondent shall consider the same and pass orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the report of the 2nd respondent.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
