ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to take appropriate action on the petitioner's representation dated 16.06.2025 and 23.06.2025 and consequently, directing the first respondent to ensure that the petitioner and his family are permitted to participate in the forthcoming temple festival scheduled on 04.07.2025.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that he owns land which the villagers requested to hand over the said land to the village for the purpose of burial ground. However, the petitioner refused as the land is being used by him for agricultural purposes. Aggrieved over the attitude of the petitioner, the entire villagers refused to take any amount from the petitioner during the festival season. In fact, the petitioner and his family were not allowed to participate in any of the functions in the village. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner submitted a representations to the first respondent seeking to conduct an enquiry and pass 2/4

appropriate orders so that the petitioner could be participating in the forthcoming festival.

3. This Court without expressing any opinion on merits is directing the respondents to issue notice to the petitioner as well as the respondents 2 to 4, conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. It is made clear that the petitioner, being a citizen of India, cannot be made to suffer or or be compelled to act against his will .

4. With the above said direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
