ORDER

This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police for providing the protection as per the request made by the petitioner on 26.06.2023. 2.It is submitted by the learned counsel on record by the petitioner that when the Arulmighu Sri Pathirakaliamman Temple was constructed, the name of the persons, who donated and helped for construction of the temple, were inscribed on the stone and putting the temple wall. However, it is submitted that some miscreants have removed this stone, thereby subsequently it was decided that again a stone will have to be fixed duly incorporating the names of the persons, who have helped for the construction of the temple.

The said aspect was also stated to have been discussed in the peace committee meeting and all the parties concerned including the rival groups have accepted for the proposal. 3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner now on coming Sunday, the programme has been fixed for installing the stone back to the temple wall, for which the petitioner stated to have requested the police to provide police protection.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) on the other hand submits that there are rival groups in the village and unless they are enquired with the truth or otherwise, the submissions of the petitioner cannot be accepted and in case, if the permission is granted without examining them, they may likely cause the law and order issue in the village.

5.Since the programme is stated to be scheduled on Sunday, the petitioner is hereby directed to provide the names of the persons, who may have some sort of objections to the police, so that the police would call them for an enquiry and provide the police protection as sought for.
