PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant 30 days of emergency leave without an escort to the petitioner's son namely Ruban, Son of Eruthayaraj, C.P.No.14114, who is undergoing sentence as life convict in Central Prison, Madurai, on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2025, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant 30 days of emergency leave without an escort to the petitioner's son namely Ruban, Son of Eruthayaraj, C.P.No.14114, who is undergoing sentence as life convict in Central Prison, Madurai, on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2025.

2. Heard M/s.K.Pandi Priya, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Ravi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 10.05.2025 is under consideration and suitable orders will be passed within a period of two weeks.

4. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 10.05.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
