ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent herein to register the settlement deed 1/4

executed by the petitioner in favour of his wife namely Chithra within the time frame by considering his representation, dated 11.06.2025. 2.The contention of the petitioner is that he has submitted the settlement deed. However, the respondent is keeping the document pending without issuing any refusal slip. But the respondent has orally stated that the Will is not registered. The petitioner has inherited the property through the alleged Will and the same is not registered. Now, the petitioner is intended to execute a settlement deed in favour of his wife and the respondent cannot reject the same, since Will can be either registered or unregistered and both are acceptable as per law.

3.Therefore, oral rejection is not maintainable. Hence, the respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's settlement deed and pass orders as per law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
