Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner obtained passport in the year 2015. He also wanted police clearance certificate. In the application form, the petitioner had stated that he is not involved in criminal case. Actually, Crime No.503 of 2022 on the file of Gandharvakkottai Police Station was registered against the petitioner on 26.02.2022. Pendency of criminal case at the FIR stage is not a bar for issuing passport. Therefore, this need not come in the way of issuance of police clearance certificate. However, in the said certificate, the petitioner's involvement in a criminal case shall be mentioned. 3.With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
