O R D E R

Heard Mr.N.P.Ravichandran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Ramesh Arumugam, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide employment to the petitioner on the ground of compassionate appointment on the basis of the order passed by the first respondent in his proceedings in Na.Ka.No.15212/Aa1/2016, dated 22.10.2016, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.04.2023.

3. The petitioner's father was working as Fire Officer in the year 1988 and he was promoted to the SOT (Special Operations Team) in the Fire and Rescue Department and thereafter, he died on 03.09.2014 while he was in service. The petitioner has given an application to the respondents to provide employment to her on compassionate grounds. The same has been considered by the respondents and she was kept in the waiting list. 2/4

4. Despite the petitioner has been kept under the waiting list from the year 2016 onwards in a fixed seniority No.255, the respondents have not considered the same till now.

5. Since the seniority did not consider even after several years, I feel that it is appropriate to direct the respondent authorities to consider the petitioner's representation.

6. In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.04.2023 and pass appropriate orders on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
