ORDER

The prayer in the writ petition is for issuance of a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the representation dated 12.07.2019 and reminder letter dated 31.07.2019 submitted by the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent.

3. In order to conduct the Avani festival of the temple called "Arulmigu Athinamilaki Ayyanar Elaikathan temple" to be conducted in the coming Tamil month of Avani, the petitioner had given representation on 12.07.2019 to the respondent and a reminder also was given on 31.07.2019, however, so far, no orders have been passed. Hence, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that, if a direction is given to the respondent to consider the said representation on merits and order is directed to be passed within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court, the petitioner would be satisfied.

4. Heard the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent, who, after having taken notice, would submit that, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD) No.17787/2019 said representation of the petitioner dated 12.07.2019 would be considered by the respondent on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

5. Having regard to the said submission made by both sides and taking note of the innocuous nature of the prayer sought for herein, with the consent of both sides, this Court is inclined to dispose of this Writ Petition, at the admission stage itself, with the following direction:

"that the respondent is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.07.2019 and the reminder dated 31.07.2019 and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner as well as the rival claimant, if any, with regard to the prayer sought for in the said representation and final order shall be passed in the said representation within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order." No costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
