Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to include the Temple's name as 'Veerachinnammal Koil' in the Village Adangal Register and also in the Village Settlement Register in the first respondent's office to the property to the extent of 0.25.0 ares in Survey No.130/1, Kananjapatti Village, Sivakasi Taluk by considering and disposing of the petitioner's representation, dated 01.12.2014 within the stipulated time.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents. 2.By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.According to the petitioner, a land in Survey No.130/1 to an extent of 0.25.0 ares in Kananjapatti Village, Sivakasi Taluk, belongs to one Veerachinnammal Temple. But in the Adangal extract, it has been shown as the said land belongs to a Temple. In the above circumstances, the petitioner said to have filed an application before the first respondent/District Collector, Virudhunagar District on 01.12.2014 to correct the settlement https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

register as 'Veerachinnamal Temple' instead of 'Temple'. The above said application is pending with the first respondent. Since no order has been passed by the first respondent, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the above said revenue records is updated in the UDR. Hence, the District Revenue Officer alone is the competent authority to correct the same.

5.In the above circumstances, the petitioner is directed to approach the District Revenue Officer seeking for the above said relief.

6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
