ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5, particularly, the fifth respondent, to conduct survey and necessary measurements for laying pillars to an extent of 22 cents, in

pursuance of the subsequent sketch, in the petitioner's property bearing Survey No.659/2D at Kansapuram, Watrap Taluk, Virudhunagar District, forthwith.

2. According to the petitioner, he is the absolute owner and in lawful possession of the property measuring 22 cents in Survey No.659/2D situated at Kansapuram, Watrap Taluk, Virudhunagar District. Despite submission of a proper representation along with the relevant documents and subsequent sketch, the fifth respondent has failed to conduct the survey and carry out necessary measurements for laying boundary pillars. In this regard, the petitioner has made an application dated 16.06.2025 and the same is pending. Such inaction on the part of the respondents is arbitrary and illegal. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents, particularly, the fifth respondent, to survey the property and lay the boundary pillars within a stipulated time.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 5 submitted that proper steps would be taken to demarcate the land in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923.

Recording the aforesaid submission, this Court directs the respondents 3 to 5 to consider the application of the petitioner dated 16.06.2025, demarcate the petitioner's land after considering the claims of the petitioner as well as the respondents 7 and 8, and pass orders in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
