Kannan, aged about 19 years before this Court and set her at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N. ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the mother of the detenue for a direction to the respondents to produce the body or person of her daughter and to set her at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The case of the petitioner is that her daughter, who is aged about 19 years, went missing from 16.06.2025 and her whereabouts was not able to be ascertained. It came to light that the petitioner's daughter was in contact with one Mr.Vijay. Hence, a complaint was given before the second respondent, based on which, a woman missing FIR came to be registered in Crime No.273 of 2025 dated 17.06.2025.

4. It is further stated in the affidavit that the petitioner's daughter called the petitioner during June 2026 and asked for money. Thereafter, in spite of repeated attempts being made, the petitioner is not able to get in touch with her daughter. It is under these circumstances, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to secure the detenue and produce her before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thoothukudi. The statement of the detenue shall be recorded and the learned Judicial Magistrate shall proceed further in accordance with law.
