O R D E R

This Suo Motu Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to regulate and improve quality of uniform syllabus introduced in Tamil Nadu for classes I to X.

2.It is averred in the petition that Times of India is a national newspaper, wherein on 30.11.2016, a news has been published with regard to quality of education at the grass root level in uniform syllabus introduced by the Government of Tamil Nadu from classes I to X. Under the said circumstances, the present Writ Petition has been filed for getting the relief sought therein.

3.On the side of the respondents, counter has been filed, wherein it has been contended inter alia to the effect that all efforts have been taken so as to improve the quality of students from classes I to X on the basis of uniform syllabus and therefore, the relief sought in the petition cannot be granted. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has contended to the effect on 30.11.2016, in Times of India, a news has been published with regard to quality of education in uniform syllabus from classes I To X. Under the said circumstances, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

5.The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents has contended that for improving quality of education from classes I to X, various infrastructures have been introduced and various programmes have been conducted and therefore, the relief sought in the petition need not be granted. 6.Considering the divergent submissions made on either side and also considering the nature of relief sought in the Writ Petition, this Court is of the view to pass the following order. 7.In fine, this suo motu Writ Petition is allowed without cost. The respondents are directed to make necessary arrangements to improve quality of uniform syllabus introduced in Tamil Nadu

for classes I to X. If arrangements have been made already for improving quality, the respondents are directed to continue the same in future.
