... Respondent Prayer :- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 15.07.2024 filed by the petitioner under Appeal No.B1/2250153/2024 on the file of the respondent within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

For Petitioner : Mr.J.Vishnu For Respondent : Mrs.S.Jeya Priya Government Advocate

ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondent to dispose of his revision dated 15.07.2024, challenging the order passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivakasi, cancelling the patta issued in the name of the petitioner.

2.Heard the arguments of Mr.J.Vishnu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Jeya Priya, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioner, he has been in possession and enjoyment of the property situated in Survey Nos.130/7, 14/1, 36/1A, 36/1C, 386/2, 408/1, 410/2 and 413/2, in S.Kodikulam Village, Watrap Taluk, Virudhunagar District. It is also stated that the patta for the property originally stands in the name of the petitioner in Patta No. 4030. One Veluchamy, S/o.Archunan filed an application before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivakasi, challenging the patta issued in the name of the petitioner. The said authority, without conducting proper enquiry,

cancelled the patta by an order dated 11.06.2024. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred a revision before the respondent on 15.07.2024. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the revision filed by the petitioner will be considered on its own merits within the time stipulated by this Court.

5. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider the revision filed by the petitioner dated 15.07.2024 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner, the above mentioned Veluchamy and other interested parties. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
