ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 particularly, the 2nd respondent to provide protection to the life and limb of the petitioner, his son C.Selvaraj and his family members leading their life at Kombaipatti, K.Ayyapatti Anjal, Kombaipatti, Vembopatti Road, Dindigul District forthwith. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would state that it appears that the petitioner's son and the daughter of the respondents 3 and 4 fell in love and they eloped on 01.11.2020 from their houses and approached the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Vadamadurai and represented that they were major and they decided to marry and thereafter they had left the village and their whereabouts are not known. While so, on 16.11.

2020, due to the said elopement of their daughter with the petitioner's son, the respondents 3 and 4 trespassed into the petitioner's house and threatened the petitioner and his family members with dire consequences. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 2nd respondent against the respondents 3 and 4, but no action was taken. Again, the petitioner made a representation dated 24.11.2020 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.

Crl.O.P(MD).No.14392 of 2020 to the 1st respondent seeking police protection to him and his family and no action was taken. Since there was continuous threat, the petitioner is before this Court.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would state that the respondents 1 and 2 will consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 24.11.2020 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents 1 and 2. Since no adverse order is going to be passed against the respondents 3 and 4, notice to them is not necessary.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without adverting to the merits of the case, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representations dated 24.11.2020 after giving opportunity to the respondents 3 and 4 and give police protection if necessary. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above directions.
