ORDER

This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to grant permission and afford protection for conducting the Kabadi Tournament scheduled from 07.07.2023 at about 8.00 P.M to 10.07.2023 at about 7.00 P.M; and for usage of mike set during the said tournament scheduled at Thiruvalluvar Thidal, Aavarampatti Village, Boothalur Taluk, Thanjavur District. 2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has submitted a representation to the respondent police on 25.06.2023. However, the respondent police have rejected the said request by way of proceedings dated 03.07.2023 vide Na.Ka.No.02/Poo.Ka.Va./2023.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that there was some law and order problem and further the organizers have not been adhering to the safety requirements for playing of a Kabadi tournament. 4.Considering the submissions, the petitioner is directed to approach the police afresh, on which the respondent police are directed to consider and provide the necessary protection subject to the guidelines issued vide proceedings in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019 dated 09.04.2019. 5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is closed. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) is instructed that since the petitioner is intending to start the tournament from today, he is requested to convey the orders of this Court to the concerned police. No costs.
