Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's joint Application dated 30.06.2016 for transfer of Stage Carriage Bus Permit in respect of Vehicle No.TN-49/AS-6925 permitted to ply on the route Pattukottai Bus stand to Mallipattinam (dealt with R.No.31207/2016) forthwith.

ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent herein, to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's joint Application dated 30.06.2016 for transfer of Stage Carriage Bus Permit in respect of Vehicle No.TN-49/AS-6925 permitted to ply on the route Pattukottai Bus stand to Mallipattinam (dealt with R.No.31207/2016) forthwith. 2.The petitioner is a stage carriage permit holder in respect of the vehicle bearing registration No.TN-49/AS/6925 to ply from Pattukottai Bus Stand to Mallipattinam and that the permit is valid upto 18.11.2020. While so, on 30.06.2016, the petitioner filed a joint application before the respondent for transfer of permit in the name of his sons, with the prescribed fee and the said application having been assigned with R.No.31207/2016, till date, no orders have been passed thereon. Hence, this writ petition.

3.Considering the limited relief sought for, the respondent is directed to consider the joint application of the petitioner assigned with R.No.31207/2016, and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
