For Petitioners : Mr.A.Saravanakumar For Respondents : Mr.B.Thanga Aravindh, Government Advocate (Crl.Side) O RDER This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to provide police protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners for opening 'Ponmagal Enterprises Shop' for cleaning the articles, by considering the petitioners' representation dated 05.06.2023. 2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the 1st petitioner and her husband used to run Ponmagal Enterprises and her husband has committed suicide on account of sustaining huge loss in the business. Since then the shop was closed. Now, the 1st petitioner intends to open and run the business, therefore, sought for police protection. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.

Side) appearing for the respondents, on the other hand, submitted that the 1st petitioner and her husband have jointly started the said Ponmagal Enterprises, wherein they collected huge amount from various persons and on account of sustaining loss in the business, the husband of the 1st petitioner committed suicide.

the respondent Police have been receiving number of complaints against the deceased and also the 1st petitioner and Economic Wing of the Police seized of the matter and they are likely to initiate action against the 1st petitioner as well. 4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, since the shop and the articles in the shop may be required during the course of investigation of the offence, the respondent Police are directed to expedite the investigation in respect of the alleged offence against the 1st petitioner. In case the 1st petitioner is no way connected with the alleged offence, she is entitled to run her shop. Hence, the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioners dated 05.06.2023 in accordance with law. 5.In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
