The writ petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to grant permission and to award adequate police protection for conducting Kabadi Tournament, which is scheduled to be taken place on 24.12.2016 and 25.12.2016 at Velliyakundram, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 08.12.2016. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the the petitioner has submitted a representation to the 2nd respondent on 08.12.2016 seeking permission and police protection for the conduct of the Kabadi Tournament on 24.12.2016 and 25.12.2016 and the same has not been considered so far and hence, now he seeks a direction to the 2nd respondent to dispose of his representation at the earliest.

4.In view of the limited scope of the relief to the extent of consideration of the representation, dated 8.12.2016 of the petitioner for granting permission to conduct the Kabadi Tournament and to give police protection, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation given by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders purely on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two days from today.
