Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 3rd respondent to de-freeze the petitioner's account bearing Nos.923030005593951 and 923020000954202 and directing the 4th respondent to de-freeze the petitioner's account bearing No.0082073000002166 within time stipulated by this Court. ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the third respondent (Axis Bank) and the learned Government Advocate for R5. There is no appearance for the South Indian Bank.

2. The petitioner's bank account have been frozen by the respondents 3 & 4 based on the intimation received from the second respondent. The petitioner is having two accounts with Axis Bank (current account and CC account). The second respondent had informed the respondents 3 & 4 that there has been suspicious transaction in the petitioner's account. It appears that a sum of Rs.47,00,000/- is involved as far as the third respondent is concerned and 2/4

Rs.32,00,000/- is involved as far as the fourth respondent is concerned. The learned standing counsel is not quite clear regarding the exact figures. The respondents 3 & 4 are directed to verify the quantum of suspicious transaction. Lien shall be marked on the petitioner's account to that extent. After marking the lien for the amount so involved, the respondents 3 & 4 shall permit the petitioner to operate his account.
