This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the second respondent to issue Priority Certificate, as per G.O.(Ms.)No.188, dated 28.12.1976, to the petitioner vide Employment Registration No.MDP2009M00012037.
2. It is the contention of the petitioner that the land measuring to an extent of 0.10.0 ares in Survey No.7/3A at Periyakulam Village, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District was acquired from his father and award was also passed and the first respondent has assured that priority in Government employment would be provided as per G.O.(Ms.)No.188, dated 28.12.1976. Hence, the petitioner has made several representations to the second respondent and finally on 28.10.2020, for issuance of Priority Certificate. But, so far no steps have been taken by the second respondent to issue the employment priority certificate. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.
3. Mr.A.Thiagarajan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that if the petitioner is eligible for the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P(MD).No.18082 of 2020 employment priority certificate, the same will be paid, after considering the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.10.2020.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

On perusal of the records, it appears that the land was acquired from the father of the petitioner, on 01.03.2004 and since then the petitioner has made several representations to the second respondent seeking employment priority certificate. But however, no employment priority certificate was issued to the petitioner so far. Therefore, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 28.10.2020, on merits and in accordance with law and issue Employment Priority Certificate to the petitioner, if he is eligible, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
