This petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 3 to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 19.10.2016 by implementing the G.O.(2D) No.325 Home (Police
3) Department, dated 09.06.2016.
2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as a II Grade Police Constable on 13.11.1979 and posted at Armed Reserve, Chennai city and on 18.09.1992, he was promoted as Head Constable HC-7223 (Armed Reserve) Chennai City and thereafter on 05.08.2004, he was promoted as Sub-Inspector of Police and posted at Armed Reserve, Chennai City and subsequently, on 19.12.2012, he was promoted as Inspector of Police(Traffic) and transferred to South Gate Police Station, Madurai and from the said date onwards, he has been serving as Inspector of Police(Traffic) till date. According to him, his juniors were promoted by overlooking his seniority. It is further stated that by the petitioner that by virtue of G.O.(2D) No.325 Home(Police 3) Department, dated 09.06.2016, his promotion should be revised and hence, he submit a representation dated 19.10.2016 to the respondents requesting to grant promotion as per the said G.O. Since the said representation did not evoke any response, the petitioner is before this Court with the relief stated supra.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that it is agreeable for the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders thereon.
5. In view of the submission, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.10.2016 in the light of G.O.(2D) No.325 Home(Police 3) Department, dated 09.06.2016 and to pass appropriate orders on the same within a period of two months from the date on which a copy of this order is made ready, preferably on or before 31st March, 2017.
