PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to widen the existing Ring Road by converting the same into a FOUR WAY LANE from its starting point that is from the Madurai-Melur highways junction to MaduraiVirudhunagar highways junction to an extent of nearly 28 Kilometers at the earliest.

ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to widen the existing Ring Road by way of converting the same into Four Way Lane from Madurai-Melur Highways Junction to Madurai-Virudhunagar Highways Junction, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.Mr.G.R.Swaminathan, learned counsel, has taken notice for the sixth respondent.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has advanced his argument on the basis of averments made in the writ petition. Further it is seen from the records that the petitioner has given a representation on 08.12.2016.
4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1, 2, 4 and 5 has contended to the effect that for the purpose mentioned in the petition already the authorities have entered into a contract from concerned contractors and also an agreement of contract has also come into existence. 5.In fact this Court has perused the concerned agreement, wherein it has been clearly stated that the agreement is intended to convert double lane to four lane. Therefore it is quite clear that the authorities have already taken proper steps for the purpose mentioned in the petition. Under the said circumstances, the present writ petition is totally unwarranted and therefore the same is liable to be dismissed.
6.In fine, this writ petition is dismissed without costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is dismissed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CO) /True Copy/ Sub Assistant Registrar
