ORDER
The petitioner has lodged a complaint before the first respondent/the Superintendent of Police, Central Range, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai, alleging that the Secretary of a Society has swindled money by extending the waiver of loan to an ineligible person. He has approached this Court that his complaint has not been attended by the first respondent and therefore, he has moved this writ petition seeking a direction to the first respondent.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent submits that even before the complaint of the petitioner, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department has received source information, based on which, they are conducting a preliminary enquiry and permission was also obtained as required under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Therefore, they need four more weeks to 2/5
complete the preliminary enquiry and to file a report.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 2 and 3 submits that they are also conducting an enquiry by appointing an Enquiry Officer under Section 81 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act on the allegations made as against the Society.
4. This Court considered the rival submissions made.
5. The petitioner has approached this Court that his complaint has not been attended by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department. Now, it is reported that the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department as well as the Society have already initiated action by conducting a preliminary enquiry and also by ordering an enquiry under Section 81 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act.

6. Since the law is set in motion, this Writ Petition is closed with a direction to the respondents to conclude the enquiry in a fair and proper manner within a reasonable time.
