Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct Avani Perunkodai festival of Sri Sudalai Andavar ThiruKovil, situated at North Street, Thisaiyanvillai from 18.08.2019 till 23.08.2019 including the programs of Innisai Katcheri and Adal Padal Nigalchi as per the petitioner's scheduled timings mentioned in the petitioner's invitation by following the orders passed by this Court in W.P.(MD). No.17989 of 2018, dated 14.08.2018.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation to grant permission and police protection to conduct Avani Perunkodai festival of Sri Sudalai Andavar ThiruKovil, situated at North Street, Thisaiyanvillai from 18.08.2019 till 23.08.2019. 2.The grievance of the petitioner is that every year, the villagers are conducting festival in the above said Village and this year also they have proposed to conduct the festival from 18.08.2019 to 23.08.2019, for which, the petitioner filed a petition before the second respondent Police on 27.07.2019 seeking permission https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and Police protection. So far no order has been passed by the second respondent Police, hence, the present petition has been filed.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that previous year also the permission was not granted to conduct the festival. Thereafter, the petitioner approached this Court and this Court granted permission with certain conditions. 4.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that, now the petition is pending with the second respondent and the second respondent has to pass the order.

5.Considering the above circumstances, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application and pass suitable orders on the application, by taking into consideration of the earlier orders passed by this Court in W.P. (MD).No.15834 of 2017 dated 17.08.2017 and W.P.(MD).No.17989 of 2018 dated 14.08.2018. The festival is going to be held on 18.08.2019, hence, the second respondent is directed to pass orders on or before 17.08.2019.

6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
