PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 528 of BNSS Act, 2023, to direct the Hon'ble Principal District and Sessions Court, Virudhunagar at Srivilliputhur to complete the trial in S.C.No.100 of 2026 in Cr.No.259 of 2025 and pronounce judgment as expeditiously as possible within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The present petition has been filed by L.W.8 in S.C. No.100 of 2026, on the file of the Principal District and Sessions Court, Virudhunagar at Srivilliputhur, seeking expeditious disposal of the criminal case.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, a night watchman of a temple was murdered and there was an attempt to rob the temple articles. The said criminal case was posted on 17.06.2026 for the examination of witnesses. He further submits that petitioner is the son of the deceased watchman and seeks expeditious disposal of the criminal case. Considering the seriousness of the occurrence, he prays that this Court may direct the concerned trial Court to dispose of the said criminal case expeditiously.

3. Heard the learned Counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

4. In view of the above facts, the respondent police officials are directed to marshal the witnesses at regular intervals and ensure that the trial is concluded expeditiously. The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Virudhunagar at Srivilliputhur, is also directed to complete the trial on or before 31.12.2026.

5. With the said observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
