Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adalpadal program scheduled to be held on 25.12.2016 at "Thiru Iruthaya Aandavar Church" at Silarpatty Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District. For Petitioner : Mr.A.Vadivel For Respondents : Mr.D.Muruganandam, Additional Government Pleader.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to give necessary direction to the respondents to grant permission and also protection for conducting cultural event to be held on 25.12.2016 in Silarpatty Village, Peraiyur Taluk, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has contended that in every year on twenty fifth of December the program mentioned in the petition is going to be conducted in the Village, but the respondents 1 and 2 have failed to grant https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

permission for conducting the same and under the said circumstances the present writ petition has been filed for getting the relief sought therein.

3.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

4.It is seen from the records that a representation has been given to the second respondent. But the second respondent has not passed any order. Under the said circumstances the second respondent can be directed to look into the representation alleged to have been given by the petitioner and pass suitable order. 5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspectror of Police, T.Kallupatty Police Station is directed to look into the representation if any given by the petitioner and take appropriate action.
