ORDER

The present petition has been filed by the accused persons in crime No.37 of 2023, on the file of the first respondent police seeking to quash the FIR wherein they are charged with the offences under Sections 9 and 10 of Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929 and Section 5 (l), 5(j) (ii) & Section 6 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

2. The date of birth of the victim girl is 08.06.2006, and she had attained majority on 08.06.2024. After attaining majority, she married the first accused on 25.08.2024. The marriage was registered before the Sub-Registrar, Melur East on 16.12.2025.

3. Pending investigation, the parties have entered into a compromise wherein the defacto complainant had agreed for quashing of the FIR. 2/4

4. Today, the victim is present in-person and he acknowledges the fact that she had agreed for quashing of the F.I.R.

5. Considering the above said facts, F.I.R. in crime No.37 of 2023, on the file of the first respondent police is hereby quashed.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo shall form part and parcel of the order. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
