Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 herein to prevent the respondents 6 to 9 from discharging their chemicals and other waste generated during the time of preparation of their sea foods in their companies into the Keela Arasaradi Kanmoi and Odai situated at Keela Arasaradi Village, Ottapidaram Taluk, Thoothukdi and also to take necessary action against the respondents 6 to 9 on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2018.

O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents and the learned counsel appearing for the private respondents.

2. The petitioner's allegation is that the private respondents are discharging the waste generated from their business premises into a nearby water body.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, it is submitted that the respondents 6, 7 and 8 are not presently functioning. The ninth respondent is now functioning under a different name that is Lifaa See Foods. The learned Government 3/6

4 W.P.(MD)NO.19258 OF 2018 Advocate on written instructions from the Tahsildar, Ottapidaram Taluk asserts that the ninth respondent has also made an independent arrangement. The waste generated from their business premises is not being let out into the nearby water body. This submission made by the ninth respondent is placed on record. If this statement turns out to be incorrect or false, it is always open to the petitioner to file contempt petition before us.

4. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
