Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and protection for the "Dance Program" on 21.08.2019 from 07.00 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. in pursuance of yearly temple festival of "Arulmigu Poo Mariamman Thirukovil", situated at Nethaji Nagar, Rameshwaram, Ramanathapuram District.

O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to grant permission to conduct Cultural programme on 21.08.2019 at "Arulmigu Poo Mariamman Thirukovil", situated at Nethaji Nagar, Rameshwaram, Ramanathapuram District. 2.According to the petitioner, the villagers are conducting festival in the above said temple and during the festival, they have proposed to conduct some cultural program, for which, the petitioner filed a petition before the second respondent Police seeking permission and police protection. That was not considered by the second respondent Police, hence, the present petition has been filed.
3.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that, already the petitioner's application has been considered and rejected by the second respondent Police on the ground that there is a law and order problem in that area, the First Information Report have also been registered against these two groups. He further submitted that if permission is granted, definitely, it will lead to law and order problem.
4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that there is no communal violence between these two groups and it is only difference of opinion between the groups. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that there is a likelihood of settlement between both parties. Hence, the matter may be referred to the Tahsildar, Rameshwaram, to conduct Peace Committee Meeting.
5.Considering the fact that it is only small dispute between these two groups and the Temple festival is going to be conducted on 21.08.2019, the Tahsildar, Rameshwaram, is directed to conduct the Peace Committee Meeting between both these two groups on 20.08.2019, after issuing notice to the petitioner's group and other group, and take a decision.
6.With the above direction, the Writ Petiton stands disposed of. No costs.
