Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to confirm the fishery rights for growing fish seed and fish culture at Thirumohur Kanmai to the petitioner for a period of 5 years commencing from 2020-21 to 2024-25 (from July 2020 to June 2025) equivalent to 5 Fasali years commencing from 1430 to 1434 by accepting the amount paid by him for a sum of Rs.4,00,000/-, paid through Demand Draft dated 27.11.2020, based on his representation dated 30.11.2020.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to confirm the fishery rights of the petitioner, for a period of five years, based on his representation dated 30.11.2020. 2.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, Mr.K.S.Selvaganesan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the first respondent, on instructions, submitted that the auction was conducted and since the highest bidder could not comply with the conditions, the fishery rights were granted in favour of the second highest bidder and he has been exercising his fishery rights for the last four years.

3. In view of the above development, nothing survives for further adjudication in this Writ Petition.

4. Recording the same, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. NCC : Yes/No 06.10.2023 Index : Yes/No smn2 2/4
