PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, seeking direction to the 2nd Respondent to consider the petition dated 27.05.2023 given by the Petitioner and provide necessary police protection for the construction of the community hall following the plan approval dated 11.10.2022 by the local authority to the petitioner. ORDER

This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent No.2 police to provide necessary police protection for the construction of the community hall. 2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that a community hall was constructed in 1 cent of land in S.No.1188/55 at Semmarikulam Village, Satihya Nagar, Tiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District in the year 1989. The said building was used for many community purposes including running of an educational institution for the poor and downtrodden people. The petitioner has taken up reconstruction of the said building as it has been dilapidated. It is also submitted that one Selwin and Chinnadurai have started claiming in respect of the 2/5

building, on which the matter was taken up by the respondent No.3 and then, he has advised both of them, Selwin and Chinnadurai to approach the civil Court if they got any grievance. It is also submitted the petitioner that the petitioner apprehending some interference from the said two persons has filed a petition before the police on 27.05.2023 for providing protection. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that the petition filed by the petitioner has been received by the police by post and they will initiate enquiry and dispose of the same within two weeks. The same is recorded. 4.Since the very purpose of the petitioner is to provide police protection and since the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) assured that within two weeks the petition filed by the petitioner will be taken up and appropriate orders will be passed, no purpose would be served keeping this petition pending and accordingly, this Petition is disposed of.
