ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to quash the refusal check slip dated 24.06.2024 and consequently, direct the respondent to register the sale deed dated 07.02.2025.

2. Through the impugned order, the respondent refused to registered the sale deed on the ground that the plot is an unapproved layout. Further earlier documents were registered without following the provisions of Section 22-A of the Registration Act.

3. It is seen that the earlier document was registered prior to 2016 before Section 22-A came into effect. In such circumstances, the respondent cannot cite the layout as unapproved since the cut-off date is 20.10.2016. Hence, the objection raised by the respondent is erroneous. Accordingly, the impugned order is set aside. The respondent is directed to register the sale deed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4. With the above said directions, this Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
