ORDER

The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition seeking for the issue of a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 22.12.2015 seeking appointment as the Member of the Syndicate of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University as per Section 23 Class II (6) of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Act. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.The syndicate is provided under Section 23 class II (6) of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Act. According to the petitioner, she is a senior most Associate Professor and the seat reserved for Associate Professors was held by N.Poovalingam and his term came to an end on 12.12.2015. Being the senior most Associate Professor, the petitioner is aspiring for the same. However, the University had not nominated her name which resulted in filing this writ petition.

3.Pending this writ petition, one C.Thilagam has filed a petition for impleading herself in the writ petition. According to her, she is working as Head of the Department of Commerce in the second respondent university. She has filed a writ petition in W.P (MD)No.6787 of 2014 challenging the promotion given to the petitioner herein who was arrayed as fourth respondent in the said writ petition. She has raised her objections for the appointment of the petitioner in the syndicate.

4.In the light of the above facts, the first respondent is directed to appoint appropriate person as member of the syndicate considering the representation of the petitioner dated 22.12.2015 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after giving notice to all the parties concerned including the third respondent herein. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
