Prayer: Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to dispose the petitioner's representation dated 01.03.2019 for rectifying the names in the patta bearing No.220 issued by the 2nd respondent office within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The prayer in this writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to dispose the petitioner's representation dated 01.03.2019 for rectifying the names in the patta bearing No.220 issued by the 2nd respondent office within stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court. 2.Heard Mr.R.Karunanidhi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Bhagawathi, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3.In respect of the property at S.No.495, Ilaiyarasanenthal village, Kovilpatti Taluk covered under patta No.220, the name of the great grandfather of the petitioner has been wrongly mentioned as Kandasamy S/o.Rengasamy Naidu instead of Rengasamy Naidu S/o.Nandasamy Naidu and therefore, in order to rectify the same, the petitioner had given detailed representation on 01.03.2019 to the District Revenue Officer, i.e. the 1st respondent. All that, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, if the said representation is decided on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame, the petitioner would be satisfied.

4.I have heard the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, who would submit that, the said representation submitted to the 1st respondent would be decided by the 1st respondent on merits and in accordance with law and accordingly, the needful would be done within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

5.Having regard to the said submissions made by both sides, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition, with the consent of both the parties, at the stage of admission itself, with the following direction:

"The respondents, especially, the 1st respondent is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 01.03.2019 and pass orders thereon, with regard to the grievance of the petitioner to rectify the name of the great grandfather of the petitioner in the patta referred to above and such order shall be passed on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
