O RDER This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent No.2 police to complete the investigating and to file the final report in Crime No.142 of 2023 on the file of the 2nd respondent police.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondent police have registered a case in Crime No.142 of 2023 on a complaint given by the petitioner against the accused persons for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 447, 427, 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(2) IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. The grievance of the petitioner is that even after registration of the case, the respondent police are not proceeding with the investigation and all the accused are at large and in case if they are not arrested and produced before the Court, there is every possibility that the accused may likely influence the witnesses, thereby the investigation will be affected. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) on the other hand submits that the police are proceeding with the investigation and the statement of the witnesses are recorded and within two weeks, the police will make all the efforts 2/5
to arrest the accused and file the charge sheet as expeditiously as possible. It is also submitted that in case if the accused still continues to abscond, the police will file the charge sheet by showing the accused as absconding. The same is recorded.
