O R D E R
The present Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to survey and demarcate the properties belonging to the petitioner comprised in S.No.13/1D2, measuring an extent of 0.10.50 hectares and S.No.13/2C2, measuring an extent of 0.12.50 hectares, situated at Sukkampatti Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's online application dated 29.08.2025.

Originally, the land in Survey No.13/2C2, to an extent of 0.12.5 hectares (31 cents), situated at Sukkampatti Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, belonged to one N.Singaraj, S/o.Late K.Nallakumar Gounder and his sons and daughters. The petitioner's father, namely, Rajendran, purchased the said property from the said N.Singaraj and his children for a valuable sale consideration in Document No.837/2006 dated 28.04.2006. After the purchase, the petitioner's father was issued with Patta No.211.

3. Subsequently, the petitioner's father executed a Settlement Deed in favour of the petitioner in Document No.108/2024 dated 11.01.2024. Pursuant to the said settlement, the petitioner effected mutation of patta and presently Patta No.446 stands in the name of the petitioner.

Thereafter, the petitioner purchased the adjacent land in Survey No.13/1D, to an extent of 0.21.0 hectares (14 cents out of 52 cents), from the said N.Singaraj and his children for a valuable sale consideration in Document No.4013/2025 dated 18.09.2025 and the same was also included in Patta No.446.
5. Based on the above, the petitioner is seeking to survey and demarcate the subject properties. According to the petitioner, there is no rival claim over the properties. However, in order to ascertain the exact boundaries of the properties, the petitioner is seeking to survey and demarcate. The petitioner has submitted an online application and remitted the requisite fees.
6. Therefore, the first respondent/Tahsildar is directed to consider the petitioner's application and survey the properties with the assistance of Page No. 3 of 6
the second respondent, namely, Head Surveyor, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the rival parties, if any, in accordance with law. In case the first respondent/Tahsildar is seeking police protection for carrying out the survey, the jurisdictional police shall provide the necessary police protection. While conducting survey, the respondents shall adhere to the following Standard Operating Procedures:
• The respondents shall issue notice to the petitioner immediately reaching the spot where survey is to be conducted. The petitioner shall affix the signature by receiving the notice of survey.
• After survey again the petitioner shall affix signature indicating that the survey was conducted to their satisfaction. • If the petitioner is not satisfied, then also the petitioner shall affix signature indicating their dissatisfaction or with protest. The petitioner shall indicate that reason of their dissatisfaction or protest.
The aforesaid procedure shall be strictly followed by the parties. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
