ORDER
The Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider his representation, dated 28.12.2024, seeking inclusion of the names of the legal heirs of Thiruvakonar in patta No.2654 pertains to S.No.16/1 situated at Madathupatti Village, Kadayanallur Taluk, Tenkasi District within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. Heard the arguments of Mr.K.Sankar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Baskaran, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.
3. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
4. It is the case of the petitioner that the patta for the subject property stands in the name of the petitioner's father Thiruvakonar, Sankarakonar and Madappakonar. The petitioner's father Thiruvakonar died on 10.12.2016 leaving behind the petitioner and his sister Vellammal as his
surviving legal heirs. Therefore, the petitioner submitted instant representation seeking inclusion of names of the heirs of Thiruvakonar. The said representation has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.
5. The learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondent would submit that the petitioner seeks modification of UDR records. Therefore, the competent authority is District Revenue Officer.
6. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to forward the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.12.2024 to the District Revenue Officer, Tenkasi within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The said authority shall consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.12.2024 and pass final orders on its own merits within further period of 12 weeks, after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and co-pattathars.
7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
