Prayer :- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to cancel the relevant entry in patta No.554 issued by the 3rd respondent in respect of land in S. No.112/3 of Perungamanallur Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District, and issue patta in favour of the petitioner for the above survey number.

ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to cancel the entry in favour of the Wakf Board in revenue records pertains to the property situated in Survey No.112/3, Perungamanallur Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District and issue patta in his favour.
2. According to the petitioner, the subject property with an extent of 36 cents was purchased by the petitioner under sale deed dated
08.05.995 from one Mayandi Thevar. However, in the revenue records the name of Wakf Board is erroneously entered. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the third respondent seeking deletion of the entry in favour of the Wakf Board. The same has not been considered. Hence the petitioner has come before this Court.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondents 4 and 5 by drawing attention of this Court to the proceedings of the second respondent dated 16.05.2025 would submit the petition filed by the petitioner seeking deletion of the entry in favour of the Wakf Board was rejected by the second respondent on the ground that any correction in UDR records can be done only by the District Revenue Officer.

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation before the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The said authority, on receipt of the representation by the petitioner shall consider the same and pass final orders on its own merits within a further
period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the respondents 4 and 5 in this regard.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
