O R D E R

The Writ Petition is filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the second respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram District, to rectify the name of the petitioner's grandfather's father as Karupannakon in Patta No.629 instead of Vellakuttykon. In this regard, the petitioner had given a representation, dated 16.01.2021. 2.In the affidavit filed in support of this Writ Petition, it had been stated that the name of the petitioner's grandfather's father had been wrongly mentioned as Vellakuttykon instead of Karupannakon. It is stated that his name is only Karupannakon. In this regard, the petitioner placed reliance on the death certificate, which has also been produced as a document along with the Writ Petition.

3.The learned Counsel for the respondents had, after getting instructions, stated that the second respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram District, had forwarded a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.17844 of 2021 communication, dated 01.10.2021 in Na.Ka.No.A6/847/2021, stating that the application of the petitioner had been re-considered and that the procedure to incorporate the name is under process with respect to the change name as Karupannakon instead of Vellakuttykon.

4.In view of the fact that the representation of the petitioner is under active consideration, the Writ Petition is disposed of. However, the petitioner may directly approach the second respondent with relevant document and also with the copy of this order and let the second respondent, if required, conduct further enquiry and carry out necessary corrections within a period of sixteen weeks from the date on which the petitioner approaches the second respondent. No costs.
