ORDER
(Order of this Court was made by R.POORNIMA, J.) This review application is filed to review the order passed by this Court in WA(MD)No.597 of 2022, dated 08/04/2025.
2. When the matter came up for admission, the learned counsel appearing for the review applicant contended that, during the selection process for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police conducted in the year 2019, the review applicant was undergoing training at Manimutharu Special Camp on 02.12.2018. It was further submitted that this fact had not been placed before this Court during the writ appeal proceedings, and the review applicant now seeks to raise the same in the present review application on the ground that there exists an error apparent on the face of the record, warranting review.
3. During the course of arguments, the learned counsel fairly admitted that, in the grounds of appeal, it had already been stated that the review applicant was on special duty at Manimutharu Special Camp, which is situated far away from his native place, and that he was in possession of the relevant certificate. However, owing to work pressure, 2/5
he was unable to collect and upload the same before the last date prescribed for submission of the application.
4. This aspect was duly considered and recorded in paragraph 4 of the order passed in W.A.(MD) No.507 of 2022, as also conceded by the learned counsel for the review applicant. Further, in paragraph 5 of the said judgment, this Court categorically held that the law governing selection processes is well settled, namely, that the instructions and conditions stipulated in the notification inviting applications are mandatory and must be strictly adhered to. It was further observed that no exemption can be granted from such strict compliance, in order to prevent arbitrariness and malpractice, and consequently, the writ appeal was dismissed.
5. In the present review application, the review applicant seeks to introduce new facts which were not urged or substantiated during the earlier proceedings. It is well settled that such new grounds cannot be permitted to be raised in a review petition for the purpose of re-agitating the matter or seeking a rehearing of the case which is not permissible in review application.

6.In view of that, there is no merit in the review application and the same is dismissed in the admission stage itself. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
