The present Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to number the appeal filed by the petitioner on 07.05.2026 under Section 12 of the Patta Pass Book Act, 1986 and dispose of the same within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the Government of Tamilnadu.

3. This Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, is directing the second respondent to number the appeal filed by the petitioner on 07.05.2026 under Section 12 of the Patta Pass Book Act, 1986, if it is otherwise in order and dispose of the same, after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the rival parties, if any, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
