O R D E R

The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to sanction an electricity service connection to the petitioner's dwelling house bearing Door No.3/93 in Natham Survey No.78/1 situated at Keelamathur Village, Madurai West Taluk, Madurai District.

2.Heard Mr. V.G. Vallarasu, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr. S. Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

3.The petitioner's application has not been processed by the respondents on the ground that an objection has been raised by a third party stating that the land is a patta land and that the petitioner has no right over the said property.

4.The petitioner has produced receipts evidencing payment of property tax and also a certificate issued by the Village Administrative Officer stating that the petitioner is residing in the said house. Therefore, the second respondent is under an obligation to consider the application submitted by the petitioner for sanction of an electricity service connection.

5.In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 10.11.2025, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

6.The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of six

(6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.There shall be no order as to costs.
